What’s the weather like at Kihaa?
The Maldives experiences good weather conditions throughout the year. The average air temperature is close to 30 degrees Celsius and water temperature constant at around 28 degrees Celsius.
June, July and August will often see a chance of stronger breezes and short sharp showers, however, the tropical climate results in relatively minor variations in daily temperature and a great deal of sunshine all year round.
How do i get to Kihaa Maldives?
Our airport team will meet you at Velana International Airport and will assist you through the check-in of your domestic flight to Dharavaandhoo.
While waiting for your transfer, you will have free access to the VIP lounge with complimentary refreshments and free Wi-Fi until boarding.
Once in Dharavaandhoo, our staff will take you to the speed boat for a 5 minute ride to your Maldivian paradise.
Transfer duration:
Domestic flight – Male to Dharavaandhoo: 25 minutes
Speed boat – Dharavaandhoo to Kihaa: 5 minutes
Note
The maximum baggage allowance per person for domestic flight transfer is 20kg for checked baggage and 5kg for hand luggage. Any excess luggage is chargeable at a cost of 5.00 US$ per kg.
Domestic transfers can be arranged only for international flights which arrive at Velana International Airport before 22:00 or which depart after 09:00. All guests who arrive or depart outside of these times are required to arrange their own accommodation at Male at their own cost.
Do you accept Credit Cards?
Yes, we accept VISA, MASTERCARD and AMERICAN EXPRESS.
We also accept US Dollars, British Sterling Pounds and Euros.
We request you to please settle your account a day prior to departure by 22:00 at Reception. Last-minute bills can be settled in the morning before your departure time.
It is not advised to change any money to the local currency, major foreign currencies can be changed at Reception and the main currency on Kihaa is the US Dollar. Within the resort, you are asked to sign all your extras to your room. You may check your bill status anytime.
Is there a doctor on the island?
Yes. If you feel unwell during your stay, please report it immediately to our Reception. Please avoid practicing self-medication while being on the island.
Doctor
A resident doctor is available to attend to your health care needs and our clinic is located near the main restaurant. Please note that charges for the doctor’s services and medication are applicable. Should you need advice or assistance please contact Reception.
Hospital
The nearest hospital is in Dharavaandhoo, Baa Atoll. Please contact the Doctor for any questions or required assistance.
Hyperbaric chamber
Should there be unfortunate diving accidents involving any of our guests, the closest hyperbaric chamber is in Kuredu Island Resort, reachable in 1 hour by speedboat.
What is the is Island’s Dresscode?
Beachwear and swimsuits are allowed in the resort. Light cotton dresses are recommended to suit the humidity and equatorial temperatures.
The Maldives is an Islamic country and nudity is strictly prohibited. Tourists are requested to wear clothes that cover thighs and upper body while visiting inhabited islands.
